Morris has just returned from Barcelona where he attended the European ‘Damon System’ Symposium. The symposium was attended by almost two thousand dentists and orthodontists from all over the world. The Damon System is a new and unique system of orthodontic treatment. The advances made in straightening teeth have improved in leaps and bounds.
Utilising this system, dentists are able to straighten teeth using very light forces which are much more comfortable for the patient. The light forces are more in tune with the body’s biological system. The teeth move far more quickly than with the old style metal brackets and stainless steel wires which produced considerable strain on the tooth and bone. Dentists are able to do treatment now for adults, which was previously only possible on children.
Morris had occasion to meet the remarkable founder of the system, Dr. Dwight Damon (above) Commenting on the innovation, Morris who has been using the system for over two years said: ’’This is not just a new and less obtrusive orthodontic bracket. In November 2006 Morris had occasion to attend an educational experience in Cologne, Germany. The course was as part of his commitment to continuing postgraduate education. The subject was orthodontics and specifically the use of the remarkable Damon system of friction free, super efficient orthodontic brackets – look at www.damonbraces.com and watch the amazing results in the short online video presentation.
The course was run by American orthodontist Dr Alan Bagden The appliance system was invented by Dr Dwight Damon who pioneered the use of low forces on teeth using high technology Nicol titanium wires in friction free brackets. His friend and colleague, Dr Alan Bagden was extremely skeptical and he set out to test the system himself in order to prove that it would not work. He was so impressed with the results that he has now become a ‘disciple’ for the system and lectures worldwide on the Damon system.
Morris has been using this marvellous system and will be attending the Damon Symposium in Barcelona in October 2007. Morris is pictured above with Alan Bagden at the Cologne event.
